The love of printmaking…
This past Spring, I applied for an artist grant through EC3’s event Artsweek Shift 2 and was successful in my endeavours!
I am so extremely happy and proud to receive this grant, it means the world to me. It also means I will be able to take my printmaking even further.
Part of my grant application consisted on being able to further develop my skills, work with some not for profits to help raise funds through art projects, working with local businesses to create promotional materials and creating more greeting card designs.
Originally I was hoping to be able to take a local printmaking course in person, but with Covid, it made things a bit difficult. Especially when everything was cancelled. I did have a backup plan though, I had submitted a list of books to learn from and teach myself new techniques.
For anyone curious on what books I purchased, I have included the list below.
So far it has been glorious trying new techniques and experimenting, especially with fabric ink!
Yes, I will be creating clothing and hand sewn, handprinted kerchiefs, along with a few other surprises ๐
This will also be part of my goal to work with not for profits and have a percentage of the proceeds to benefit them. Something I feel very strongly about and believe in.
So for now, that’s what I have been up to these past few weeks in the studio and the rest of Summer. In addition to completing all your commission requests of course ๐
If you would like to collaborate on a special printmaking project, please don’t hesitate on sending me a message. I would love to work with you!
For now, here is a sneak peak of what I have been working on…
